On Sunday, bomb threats at three Ivy League schools led to evacuation and police investigations. At least two schools said the threats there were baseless.
Cornell University, Columbia University and Brown University remind students of these threats. Authorities at Columbia University and Brown University said the campus buildings had been cleaned up on Sunday night.
In Ithaca, New York, Cornell police received a call to the police saying that bombs had been placed in four buildings and then cordoned off in the center of the campus.
In New York City, Columbia University police issued a campus-wide emergency alert after receiving bomb threats in the university building at about 2:30 pm. The university deemed these threats unreliable shortly before 5 pm
Officials at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island sent a text alert to students stating that the police were investigating “multiple buildings on campus involved bomb threats. Later that evening, the university issued a notice before 6 pm Another alert stated that students can safely resume campus activities.
Two days ago, a bomb threat from Yale University forced the evacuation of several buildings and nearby businesses in New Haven, Connecticut. The Yale campus resumed normal activities on Friday night about five hours after receiving the call.
