FA Cup match of the day Dagenham Redbridge and Salford were stopped after the players were warned of a medical emergency in the crowd.
The 2,330 fans of Chigwell Construction Stadium participated in the televised first round match between the 92nd league second team and the national league dagger team.
However, as the host requested an equalizer late in the game, fans in a corner of the ground began to call on medical staff to take care of the injured supporters.
The players were alert to the incident, referee David Rock suspended the game for a few minutes, and then the fans were carried onto stretchers by medical staff.
It is not yet clear what happened to this fan. Someone saw him being carried across the stadium without the help of oxygen.
Dagenham and Redbridge wrote on Twitter: “All our housekeepers and medical staff have done so quickly. The supporters in question have been taken away for further medical treatment.”
Salford stated via their social media page: “The players and staff have responded very well to overcoming and providing help. We sincerely wish the supporters a speedy recovery.”
Salford qualified for the second round due to Jordan Turnbull’s goal in the third minute.
