Coronavirus death toll at 11:00 (GMT) on Friday
Paris-According to official sources compiled by Agence France-Presse at 11:00 (Greenwich Mean Time) on Friday, the novel coronavirus has caused at least 5,078,208 deaths since its outbreak in China in December 2019.
At least 251,869,080 coronavirus cases have been registered. The vast majority of people have recovered, but some people continue to show symptoms after weeks or even months.
These figures are based on daily reports provided by the health authorities of each country.
They excluded amendments made by other statistical organizations, which indicated that the death toll was much higher.
The World Health Organization estimates that due to the extremely high mortality rate directly or indirectly related to Covid-19, the total death toll from the pandemic may be two to three times higher than the official record.
Although many countries have strengthened testing, there are still a large number of mild or asymptomatic cases that have not been detected.
On Thursday, 7,136 new deaths and 512,227 new cases were recorded globally.
According to the latest report, the country with the largest number of new deaths is Russia, with 1,235 new deaths, followed by the United States (815) and Ukraine (750).
The United States is the most affected country, with 759,677 deaths out of 46,852,796 cases.

Norway plans to vaccinate all adults with a third dose of Covid-19 vaccine
Oslo-The Norwegian government stated that Norway will provide a third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to everyone 18 years of age or older, and will give municipalities the option of using a digital “corona pass” as a way to curb the continued surge in Covid-19 infections Friday.
