Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry now holds The most three-pointers made in NBA historyIncluding the playoffs, passing Boston Celtics legend Ray Allen.
On Friday, Curry scored 40 points in a 119-90 victory over the Chicago Bulls and ended the game with 9 three-pointers. He was only one three-pointer away from tying Allen’s record when he started the game, and he did it in the first two minutes.
Curry is only 78 three-pointers away from surpassing Allen’s regular season record, because the official record does not include playoff data. Including Friday, Curry made 2,896 three-pointers in the regular season, while Allen made 2,973.
In the 2015-16 season, Curry set a single-season record with 402 three-pointers. For the first time in NBA history, he won the MVP award unanimously.
Curry averaged 28.4 points per game this season and made 40% of his three-pointers. Tomorrow night at 7 o’clock, the Warriors will face the Charlotte Hornets, and it will be interesting to see how Curry’s historic season plays out.
