The City of Renton is looking for candidates to serve on its newly formed equity committee.
The main goal of the Equity Commission is to formulate recommendations to enable community members to achieve equitable results by removing racial, economic, and social barriers in urban projects, services, and policies.
The committee will consist of nine members, either residents of Renton or business owners. One member must be between 18-25 years old. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to fairness and reflect Renton’s diversity, including but not limited to race, race, age, gender, beliefs, gender identity and expression, and occupation. The members will be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the city council.
