The King County Election (KCE) mailed ballots to more than 76,000 registered voters in the 3rd District of Seattle City Council on November 17 to participate in the December 7 election to remove Kshama Sawant.
Only voters registered in the 3rd District of the Seattle City Council are eligible to vote.
The allegations made by the recall supporters and Savant’s response to them will all appear on the ballot, and voters will choose “recall yes” or “recall no.”
On November 23, leaders from Asian, black, and Jewish communities issued a statement supporting the Recall Sawant movement.
“We want to make it clear: Councillor Kshama Sawant does not represent us, nor does it represent our community.”
The statement continued: “Voters in District 3 should be aware of Sawant’s long history of attacking our community and hijacking our efforts.
“Sawant frequently makes anti-Semitism-inducing remarks that lead to violence and hatred against the Jewish community. She also incites chaos in the black community and tries to hijack the efforts of the Black Lives Matter organizers to promote her own political agenda.
“The Seattle Asian community has repeatedly tried to raise concerns with Congressman Sawant because the city’s lax attitude towards crime in the International District has led to the loss of vitality in the International District.
Sawant refused to speak up for the Asian community because she mistakenly equated crime with poverty and used our problems for political gain.
Sawant misappropriated the cultural identity of the Asian community for political gain and gaming-but she turned her back on the needs of the community. “

The deadline for online registration to vote is November 29. Voters can register and vote at any KCE polling center location before 8pm on election day.
Ballots must be postmarked by December 7th, or returned to one of the 16 drop-in boxes open for this election. The drop box is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, until 8pm on election day.
