Two-time world bronze medalist Tiffany Chin was selected into the American Figure Skating Hall of Fame.

The induction ceremony will be held on January 9th at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, during the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, a trial for the Beijing Olympics.

“Tiffany Chin has contributed a lot to this sport. As the first Asian American women’s American champion, she inspired a new generation of skaters who will continue to follow in her footsteps,” Nomination Committee Chairman Larry Mondschein ( Larry Mondschein) said.

Chin became an Olympian while becoming a US champion in 1985. This was the first victory for a non-white athlete at an advanced level. When she was selected as the first of the three world championship teams, she was 15 years old, and when she was 16, she finished fourth at the Sarajevo Olympics in 1984.

The jaw struggled with growth-related injuries and was forced to take a vacation. At the age of 19, she became a professional player.
