The Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) 2022 National Scholarship and Award Program is underway. Guides, instructions and applications are posted on jacl.org and can be accessed by clicking the “Programs” tab on the menu bar.
JACL provides approximately 30 university scholarships each year.
Freshman applications must be submitted directly to National JACL via an online form by the applicant no later than 11:59 PM Hawaii Standard Time (HST) on March 4, 2022.
Applications for non-freshman scholarship categories (undergraduate, graduate, law, creative/performing arts, and financial aid) will also be sent no later than 11:59 PM Hawaii Standard Time (HST) on April 1, 2022.
Applicants must be young people/students or individual members of JACL; couples/family members held by parents do not meet this requirement.
Applicants must enroll in the fall of 2022 to be eligible for the scholarship. If students have won two national scholarships before, they will no longer be eligible to apply.
