The health center provides Covid-19 care packages and immunity enhancement activities for local travelers. If you are looking for detoxification to strengthen your body and mind and prepare for the new normal, Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions near Browns Beach in Negombo is the perfect choice.
During my recent trip to Negombo, I took part in an alternative health activity to align my mind, body and soul with the health dimension of Ayurveda. Since happiness is an encyclopedic term, each person’s path to happiness is unique, so a holistic approach must be considered to seek balance. In order to let me experience how health affects my life, Sri Lanka Tourism Bureau arranged a day of detox holiday at Jetwing Ayurvedic Pavilions. On the whole, the Ayurveda Pavilion is not a regular Ayurvedic resort where you provide body care. It is designed around a traditional treatment technique that dates back thousands of years.

This peaceful hideaway faces Ettukala Beach and is only minutes away from Bandaranaike International Airport. The Ayurvedic Pavilion is located between beautiful gardens and rustic courtyards, bringing you stories and whispers of ancient knowledge, encouraging nature to stimulate your overall health. This place is a perfect combination of modern and traditional luxury, designed to immerse you in ancient therapeutic science. Its name Ayurveda Niwas is reminiscent of spiritual enlightenment and the pursuit of true self.

To complement your treatment experience in Sri Lanka, Ayurveda Pavilions has created a series of holistic treatment menus based on ancient therapies, including nutritional counseling. At the entrance, a wooden board was hung with the inscription “Ayurvedic Niwas” on it. As soon as I entered the door, I was far away from the material world. There were traces of aloe vera, yellow walls, thatched ceilings, and two Victorian white cement vases on both sides.

I was impressed by the pure green surroundings, and my attention was immediately drawn to the quiet garden, which was filled with many native trees and Ayurvedic plants. Each shrub has a wooden sign with the word plant on it. I found Domba Alexandrian Laural, Heen Dan and Jasmine, just to name a few. This beautiful place grows fresh vegetables and medicinal materials for internal nutrition. Walking in this peaceful garden is the perfect way to reduce stress!

Passing through another thatched door, I came to Niwas with yellow walls, green pillars and sloping wooden roofs. A courtyard swimming pool with sprinklers and non-smoking rooms are located at the back of the waiting hall. The spacious and well-ventilated foyer is a perfect combination of tradition and modernity. It is characterized by a sloped mahogany timber ceiling. It is refreshing to learn that the facilities of this eco-friendly hotel do not use plastic.

A traditional welcome ceremony; where we wash our hands and receive coconut water, symbolizing that the healing process has begun. Every Ayurveda Pavilions plan starts with a doctor’s consultation, and I have to fill out a form with “patient medical record book” written on it. The type of body massage you will receive is determined by the doctor after studying your medical history. The Ayurvedic lunch at Koththamalli by Rohan (the only vegan and vegetarian restaurant in Negombo) completed the entire sequence.
I’m sure that for regular residents, the situation is slightly different and they will be guided to complete a detailed timetable, which includes specific meals and physical therapy. Teams of skilled doctors located in two Ayurvedic treatment facilities are responsible for providing treatment to you. Each doctor has completed a degree in Ayurvedic medicine and can provide you with personalized attention and support to achieve your overall health journey.
Akila Jayawardena at the reception, my doctor and my therapist (who wished to remain anonymous) made my visit a pleasant one. The staff are really friendly and attentive, they immediately make you feel at ease. Based on the information I provided in the questionnaire, I got a thorough diagnosis and performed a full body massage that best suits my body shape. I groaned and walked over, which shows how messed up I am. My therapist stepped in to save the day. A burly woman from Sri Lanka is impressive. She has performed classic Ayurvedic therapy.
In the next ninety minutes, she continued to bring her own new technical repertoire, reaching a climax in deep relaxation. Instead of using a traditional oil massage, I asked for a cream massage, so she kept pouring the cream on me in sync. The purpose of this visit is to learn more about Ayurveda. I had a 15-minute consultation with the doctor and then a 90-minute full body massage, which worked miracles for my body and mind. I began to feel a sense of lightness that I had never felt in years. Thanks to the doctors and therapists, this experience was very good. I believe it will lead to better overall health.
At the end of the one and a half hour meeting, I felt more energetic. Although a single meeting may not be enough to make you lose interest in unhealthy feeds, they are a sequel to them.
The other half of the cure is food. Therapies that rejuvenate our body and mind, teach us how to live a healthy lifestyle: formulate dietary patterns. Ayurveda Pavilions (Ayurveda Pavilions) is located in a charming green environment, with a meticulously prepared charming restaurant overlooking the lush greenery. Because it follows the Ayurvedic belief that food is one of the three pillars of life and plays an important role in prevention and treatment, diet is an important part of this institution. Therefore, vegetarian meals are not only prepared with fresh vegetables grown on-site or purchased from local farms, but also adjusted according to the preferences of the guests.
Lunch includes beetroot mango salad with wood apple sauce appetizer, roasted pumpkin garlic soup with coconut flakes, Sri Lankan rice with condiments as a main course, and coconut sweet pancakes as dessert. Banana flower dry curry, green jackfruit, mixed mushrooms, cabbage and Dhal white curry, tofu, beetroot dry curry and Gotukola sambal, a green leaf salad, are all condiments. I can eat this food every day for the rest of my life.
I may have just had a basic Ayurvedic meal at lunch as part of the package, but I can assure you that the quality and flavor of the food far exceeded my expectations. Rohan, the chef of Ayurveda Pavilions, has a calm creativity and prepares delicious meals while adhering to each guest’s dietary preferences.
The biological environment of the center also plays a role in the healing process. The structure aims to promote tranquility through the thoughtful use of natural light and environmentally friendly materials. There are water features throughout the place to help you relax. The color palette is dominated by subtle greens, and the floral landscape of the garden is full of blue and pink water lilies. The on-site Ayurvedic pharmacy allows you to get a prescription to complete the rehabilitation plan.
You don’t need serious health problems to get rid of your hamster’s life and sign up for this therapy. If you are smart, you will prevent rather than cure. The health retreat has witnessed our difficult moments and moments of need. Generations of wisdom are here to come to life, and it also reflects the iconic meaning of ancient values. I don’t know what to expect, but after experiencing Ayurveda, I have never felt so peaceful, happy, holy and clear as I am today. The staff can also speak German and Japanese fluently, which can come in handy if you need it.
Ayubwan! (May you live long)
