With energy bills rising this spring, households are bracing for less and less money. In the fifth-richest country in the world, pensioners skip meals to pay for their heating, and parents only turn on the heat when their children are home. Meanwhile, fossil fuel companies such as BP and Shell made their biggest profits in years.
How do these two things relate to each other? Why are energy bills soaring? What can the government do to ensure heating is affordable for everyone?
