Google Cloud has announced that it will acquire cybersecurity company Mandiant, a leader in SaaS-based active security. The acquisition underscores the importance of security to all businesses, large and small, as cybercrime increasingly affects all businesses.
The all-cash acquisition valued Mandiant at $23 per share in a deal valued at $5.4 billion.
Mandiant will become part of Google Cloud once the transaction receives the necessary shareholder and regulatory approvals.

Together with Mandiant, Google Cloud will provide an end-to-end security operations suite with enhanced capabilities and consulting services to help customers address critical security challenges and stay secure at every stage of the security lifecycle. “
