7 Ways to Fill a Bucket

Keeping your bucket full means you are hopeful, happy, positive, and encouraging. As I shared in a previous post 5 ways to de-stress your child, Everyone’s life has some small twists and turns from time to time, but the most important thing is to always get up and move on. In this article, I’ve written about 7 ways to keep your bucket full.

introduce

What does it mean to keep the bucket full? As an educator, I completed this career development and we learned how every teacher and staff member brings their bags to school. During this event, my principal took the time and energy to recognize and encourage each of her staff. I received this bucket about 8 years ago and it’s still on my computer desk! My words of encouragement are: thinkers, planners, organized, supporters (and worryers).

For a successful campus that centers on the learning and growth of students every day, it is important to consciously bring you into the content of the four walls. You can bring out your emotions (positive or negative) and it will spread to those around you. So staying positive should be a conscious effort so you can spread the positivity and cheer around you.

Whether we are educators, nursing home employees, nurses, doctors, EMS professionals or any other worker, staff member or parent at home – what you give to others is so important, and doing it consciously is so important. We can only give what we have. If we have love and happiness in our hearts, we give. If we have insecurities and fears, we reflect that. Let’s start consciously choosing what we choose to receive today, because whatever it is, it will be distributed to others.

Do we want to be positive and spread joy? Then deliberately look around and absorb it. Your ideas make you! So always think positively and look for the good things in life. Do you believe in elevating yourself by elevating others? Compliment others often. The good things you do to others will be rewarded to you.

Disclaimer: This is my personal take on how to hope, encourage and keep our bucket full. This is not a professional review of any book or concept.

Here are 7 ways I keep my bucket full:

Believe that all things are good. Stay positive, no matter what happens. Being hopeful and optimistic is an energy that can help you keep going. Don’t be disappointed for too long, learn your lesson and move on. I know it’s easier said than done, but a positive attitude can be fostered and there are huge benefits.

Get encouragement by encouraging others. One way is through your words. Do you know the power of words? Complimenting others to fill their imaginary bucket can actually help you fill your bucket! As human beings, we like to feel good and it is human nature to be encouraged by positive words. As an educator, I know that in a great classroom and school environment, positivity, encouragement, praise, and constructive feedback are strategies used every day. Try to be a source of encouragement for others.
