If you ever appeared by my side weekly meal planner You already know that we try to serve several meatless meals each week. Falafel is one of our all-time favorite vegetarian meals. These are really easy to cook and are compatible with Slimming World. This Slimming World Falafel recipe gives 12 falafels and three falafels a syn value. Whether you’re on the Slimming World program or not, these falafel sandwiches are delicious, affordable, and versatile.
raw material
- 1 400g can chickpeas
- 1 brown onion (roughly chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (sliced)
- 2 tablespoons coriander leaves
- 2 tablespoons parsley
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed chili
- black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons plain flour

method
- Preheat oven to 220°C / fan 200°C / gas 7.
- put onion and garlic in a food processor Blitz until rough mud.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
- Take a golf ball-sized amount of the mixture and flatten it into a small patty.
- Spray a baking sheet with low-fat cooking spray and line the falafel.
- Bake for 15 minutes, turning halfway through.
- Serve hot with pita bread and salad, couscous, or sweet potato wedges. Slimming World Low Synthetic Falafel
A low-fat version of this Middle Eastern classic
raw material
- 400 gram canned chickpeas Drain and rinse
- 1 big brown onion Chopped
- 3 clove garlic minced
- 2 spoon coriander leaves
- 2 spoon coriander
- 2 teaspoon Cumin powder
- 2 teaspoon minced coriander
- ½ teaspoon crushed peppers
- black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 spoon plain flour

Preheat oven to 220°C/fan 200°C/gas 7.

Add the onion and garlic to a food processor and quickly blend until coarsely pureed

Add remaining ingredients to food processor and blend until smooth

Take golf ball-sized mixture and make into patties

Grill falafel on tray for 15 minutes, turning halfway through
