New report for indexed videos

On the second day of Google’s annual I/O conference, the company previewed new reports coming to Search Console that will provide more data on video.

To make video indexing easier to track and diagnose, Google will soon be adding new datasets to Search Console.

Currently, Google Search Console only reports videos related to structured data.

If you publish videos on your site and mark them up with structured data, you can use Search Console to check whether the markup is valid and how many impressions the video has received.

Soon you’ll be able to use Search Console to check the indexing status of your videos and the landing pages on which they appear.

Video Page Index Report

The first step in indexing a video is to index the landing page where the video appears.

Google then has to identify the prominent video on the page and extract key information about it.

a new one Video page index The report in Search Console will show a summary of all indexed pages with videos found by Google.

At a glance, you’ll see how many landing pages a video was detected on, and whether Google was able to index the videos it found.

The report will provide details such as URLs of affected video pages. You will be able to download a list of examples and examine them carefully.

With this, you can narrow down the details and understand what’s going on and how to fix the problem.

Like other Search Console reports, this report will include a “Verify Fix” button to notify Google that an issue has been resolved.

Check Video Index Status

You can check the indexing status of your video by entering the URL of your landing page in the URL Checker tool.

This will show you the current status of the URL, and the video indexing status of the page. You’ll see if Google detected the video on the page and was able to index the video.

Note that Google will only index one video per page, even if there are multiple videos on the page.
