There are keto-friendly protein shakes out there, but many of them contain artificial preservatives and processed ingredients—and many others aren’t suitable keto diet Not at all because they are loaded with sugar. That’s why I prefer homemade sugar free protein shakes.

Although I’m not a big fan of meal replacement shakes rather than actual keto meal, some people do have success using keto protein shakes to lose weight.Even if you’re not using this shake as a meal replacement, it’s delicious as a snack or light keto breakfast.

Unlike most shakes, it doesn’t contain too much sugar, carbohydrates, or processed ingredients.Instead, we use berries to flavor and sweeten (the best low carb fruit! ), along with Wholesome Yum Keto Simple Syrup. It has a neutral taste, zero net carbs, and is great for all kinds of sweetness keto drink.

  • berry – I used a mix of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.other keto fruitlike avocado, can also be added. For a thicker smoothie, use frozen berries.
  • Collagen Powder – I like to use this collagen or this, but any protein powder you like (whey protein, pea protein, etc.) will do. Just make sure it has no sugar and zero carbs. I use 3/4 cup of powder in my entire keto protein shake recipe, which is about 6 scoops (1 scoop per serving).
  • full-fat coconut milk – Makes low-carb protein thick, rich and creamy, dairy free.you can use other Keto Milk Optionssuch as unsweetened almond milk or hemp milkbut the milkshake will be less thick.
  • Wholesome Yum Keto Simple Syrup – Sweeten a low-carb protein shake with zero net carbs, zero aftertaste and zero gritty texture. You can also use Besti Powdered instead, it dissolves easily, even in cold drinks like this one.most other keto sweetener Will not dissolve completely, leaving a rough texture and uneven sweetness. A smoothie without any added sweetener isn’t sweet enough for most people, but you can certainly try it (and add some later if you change your mind!).
  • MCT Oil Powder – Optional, but adds keto-healthy fats while being gentler than regular MCT oil. You can substitute melted coconut oil if you like.
  • lemon juice – Brings out the sweetness of the berries.

You probably don’t need detailed instructions on how to make a homemade low-carb protein shake, but if you do…

Simply mix! Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Adjust sweetener to taste as needed.

  • Swap out the fruit. We’re using berries here for a low carb protein smoothie, but if that’s not that important, feel free to swap out some or all of it for a different one keto fruit. No matter which type you choose, you will need 6 cups.
  • Swap out the milk. We use canned coconut milk for smoothies which are nice and thick, but you can also use heavy cream, almond milkeven hemp milk.
  • Add nut butter. It’s also great for extra chunky smoothies and more protein. Try almond butter, peanut butter, or opt for a nut-free sunflower seed butter.
  • Add seeds. Chia or flax seeds add omega 3 to thicken smoothies, or you can sprinkle them on top.
  • Add yogurt. Great way to add probiotics and more protein, plus it adds acidity.I like Make your own unsweetened yogurt.
  • Add chocolate. If you want a chocolate protein smoothie, you can substitute some unsweetened cocoa powder in mine Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie Recipe Contains unsweetened chocolate protein powder.
  • Add avocado. It’s such a huge boost to healthy fats that you won’t even taste it in a smoothie. Also, it will thicken.

Storage Instructions

  • Shop: Keep your homemade keto protein shake in the refrigerator. Mix or shake them before serving.
  • freeze: Pour into a separate jar, leaving some room at the top for the low-carb shake to expand while freezing. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator, shake or mix before serving.
