Don’t ignore this classic salad because if you haven’t had a Caesar salad in a while, you’ve probably forgotten how delicious it is! Plus, it’s easy to whip up and loved by everyone!
A Caesar salad, when done right, features crisp, fresh bite-sized romaine lettuce lightly wrapped in a rich and bright creamy dressing, studded with crunchy croutons and spicy fresh Parmesan cheese!
All of these elements combine to create a super tasty salad that’s worth enough to eat on its own, or by adding some protein, it can be made into a dinner-friendly salad!

How to Make Caesar Salad Dressing
This recipe opts for a quick Caesar spread made with mayo.It would be awesome if you could do it yourself Homemade Mayonnaiseit can also be made with store-bought mayonnaise.
After eating the mayo, all you need to do is stir the ingredients together! Traditionally, Caesar dressing is made with anchovies. It gives it real umami.
However, we know that most people don’t have anchovies at home yet, so you can definitely skip it if you want!
Do I need to make croutons at home?
Of course you don’t need to! But I can say that we really recommend making croutons at home! They are very different from store-bought croutons. They are tastier and have a better texture. Plus, they are very simple.

- Cut or tear bread.
- Stir in olive oil and seasonings.
- Bake until light brown and toast.

For the caesar dressing:
- ½ cup mayonnaise, self made or store bought
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon anchovy sauce (optional)
- Songhai Salt
- crushed black pepper
Everything else:
- 1 head romaine lettuce (approx. 6 cups), cleaned and chopped
- ¾ cup shaved parmesan cheese (see note)
- 1–½ cup homemade croutons (or store bought)
- salt and pepper to taste
- a squeeze of fresh lemon (optional)
instruct
- Add all seasoning ingredients to a small bowl or mason jar and toss to combine. Taste and adjust seasonings. shelved.
- Assemble the salad: Combine the romaine lettuce, Parmesan, croutons, and half of the dressing in a large bowl. Toss and combine together. Taste and adjust salt, pepper and lemon as needed.
- Divide evenly into four plates. Sprinkle a few extra croutons and Parmesan cheese on the plate, along with some freshly ground black pepper.
- Serve immediately with extra dressing on the side!
