One of the key factors contributing to our silent pandemic is the lack of affordable and sustainable access to nutritious food. According to the USDA, food insecurity is a significant problem.One shocking 38 million Americans live in food-insecure households; 9.4 million adults live in households with very low levels of food security, and 6.1 million children live in food-insecure households. Food is one of the basic elements of our existence and has a major impact on our physical and mental health.
