Another Mekeni food product will soon be available in the US market as Mekeni Food Corporation announces that they will be bringing their much-loved tocino through the Island Pacific Supermarket.
Mekeni President Prudencio Garcia said this new development in their world market tour is a testament to their commitment to enhancing the lives of Filipinos and bringing pride to the country.
“This is another step forward in introducing our own Timmplang Atin to the rest of the world. As we introduce our first Mekeni branded products to the US, we hope that Filipinos and foreigners overseas will enjoy the world-class quality we offer and taste,” Garcia said.
Last January, Mekeni also launched Kikiam and Fish Balls on the West Coast through a partnership with Island Pacific Supermarket, one of the largest Asian/Philippine supermarkets in the region.
These products are widely accepted by the Filipino community on the West Coast. The stock fell immediately after Island Pacific announced the new product on its Facebook page.
“We have received a lot of positive feedback from family, friends and friends of friends in the US. Some have even asked us to bring more Mekeni products,” said Marilou Uy, VP of Mekeni Exports. This inspired Mekeni to speed up its tocino delivery efforts to the United States.
“This is a major feat for a brand like Mekeni, which started out as a backyard business for a simple family. This milestone is a celebration of years of hard work by the entire Mekeni family,” Garcia said.
Before the US, Mekeni exported food to international markets such as Dubai, Bahrain, Brunei, Qatar, Australia, Canada and the UK. It is also the first company recognized by the Japanese government to export cooked food to Japan.
For over 30 years, it has been known for its world-class manufacturing capabilities.
