Summer camping is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and travel on a budget. Even if you’re not the outdoors type, there are ways to make camping more like glamping and make sure you have a great time. There’s nothing worse than being underprepared, and you might feel like something like an air mattress needs high maintenance, but honestly, if you know you can’t sleep without it, it’s worth it. Trying to enjoy yourself after a sleepless night is almost impossible, so be sure to consider all possibilities and situations in order to prepare for it all.
Camping Tips
booked in advance
It turns out that people are very organized these days and plan things in advance. I think the camping type is more laid back and spontaneous, but every time I go to plan a last-minute camping trip, the site makes reservations months in advance. So think ahead and plan your weekend or week by booking in advance.Check ReserveAmerica.com Find a campground near you.
research campsites
Once you’ve chosen a camping destination, make sure you do your research to choose a good campground. There are definitely good and bad places, and I’ve been through them. Being too far from the water or the bathroom is no fun at all. Make sure your location has everything that is important to you. It would be ideal to have a beachfront venue close to the water and bathroom if possible! Sometimes these sites are a bit pricey, but definitely worth the extra cost. A place that provides shade is also very helpful for those hot summer days, or even a place to shelter from the rain.
Check the weather
Everyone has their own way, but I personally am not one to camp in the rain. Yes Mother Nature is unpredictable, a stray shower here, no big deal, but if thunderstorms and rain are expected over the weekend, I’m out. Know your restrictions and check the weather before you leave. If the nights will be cooler, make sure you have enough layers and blankets ready. If it’s going to rain, bring rain gear and extra clothing, there’s nothing worse than being stuck in the rain with wet clothes. Be prepared so you can enjoy yourself no matter the weather. Things like tarps and pop-up tents ensure you can have fun no matter the weather. Board games and cards are fun activities to play under or inside a pop-up tent when it rains. Hot, dry weather can also be tough if you’re not prepared. Having shade, water access, and sun protection are all keys to keeping things fun.

Tips for Camping with Kids
Make sure your tent is big enough. Depending on the age of your children, there may be one large family tent or several tents. You know your child best, what makes sure everyone gets the best sleep possible? Instead of baby pack-n-plays, my friends use laundry bins or something. Make sure you have enough water, games and snacks to keep the kids entertained and entertained. Hot dogs and morels are always a hit. Have suitable children’s gear ready in advance. Rain gear (raincoats), hats, waterproof shoes, layers, and plenty of changes of clothing will help keep your child warm and happy.
