TRD Singapore, a home-grown developer specializing in the design and supply of cutting-edge Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) solutions, is launching its latest series at the Thailand Defence and Security 2022 conference.
The company is launching its new handheld and rugged IP65-rated ORION-H7 with what appears to be the world’s first seven-band frequency jamming capability, designed to defeat all commercial UAS and do-it-yourself (DIY) drones, as well as some some military systems.
ORION-H7 is certified safe to use and complies with international radiation hazard standards, including IEEE C95. It doesn’t radiate backwards to improve operator safety, while digital controls with a built-in compass and LED display enhance usability.
TRD Singapore will also launch other new solutions such as ORION-GTS, ORION-MOC and ORION-D MP. ORION-GTS is a drone gun training simulator that uses Augmented Reality (AR) technology to provide realistic and effective operator training without the need to fly live drones or turn on actual jamming signals. Different levels of training can be conducted in a live environment using simulated drones, enabling users to conduct training anytime, anywhere without having to seek regulatory approval.
ORION-MOC (Mobile Operations Console) is an optional software-based solution that integrates existing ORION C-UAS artillery into a fixed or mobile command and control (C2) system using a local telecommunications network. The new system is able to track and display all networked C-UAS effectors, including their area of influence and even their viewpoint. Sensor data can also be fed to distributed C-UAS effectors, enabling their respective operators to respond to potential threats beyond line-of-sight.
ORION-D MP is a portable backpack sensor system designed to detect, track and geolocate drones and their operators using the transmitted signals between them. Using proprietary decoding technology, the system is even able to identify information such as drone serial numbers.
TRD Singapore told Bilingual Program Daily It has expanded its regional footprint with a new office in Thailand, which also contributes to its overall R&D activities.
“TRD has just delivered 11 state-of-the-art complete C-UAS vehicles to customers in Asia, and the company is [also] Showcasing this vehicle solution at the show,” the company said. “The vehicle consists of radar, RF system, cameras and jammers with integrated C2, which can move quickly to deploy in different locations, by placing the drone Shoot down or send it out of the protected area to defeat the drone. “
