materials needed:
- Egg: Eggs take the protein up a notch and help hold the oatmeal bake together so it holds its shape.
- milk: I prefer to use almond milk, but any type of milk will do.
- Applesauce: Applesauce certainly adds more apple flavor, but it also acts as a natural sweetener.
- Maple sugar: A more natural sweetness gives this Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal the best flavor.
- Oil: Avocado or coconut oil will work.
- Vanilla Extract: Add flavor depth.
- oatmeal: As always, I use gluten free oatmeal. If you’re not gluten-free, feel free to use regular.
- Chia seeds: I like to sneak seeds into my oatmeal for extra nutrition.
- Cinnamon: I think apples and cinnamon are This The perfect couple.
- baking powder: Prevents baked oatmeal from getting too thick while baking.
- sea salt: Enhance the flavor of oatmeal baking recipes.
- apple: Peel and grate! Use your favorite variety.

what oats to use for oatmeal baking
I always use gluten free oatmeal and the texture is great perfect!
You can also use plain oatmeal if you prefer, or, in a pinch, quick-cooked oats. Quick cooking results in a softer texture, but oatmeal baking is still delicious.
