Sabine Center’s Amy Turner Named to NYC Mayor’s Sustainability Advisory Council

On December 8, New York City Mayor Eric Adams appointment The 26 board members of the NYC Sustainability Advisory Council guide the city’s long-term resiliency and sustainability goals. Amy Turner ——Senior Researcher, Columbia Climate Institute Sabin Center for Climate Change Law – is one of the new board members.
Board will advise Rohit Aggarwala (Chief Climate Officer and Commissioner of Environmental Conservation) and Kizzy Charles-Guzmán (Executive Director, Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice) on climate and sustainability strategy PlaNYC Climate Plan, due April 2023 .
“New York City has some of the most ambitious and equitable climate policies in the country,” Turner said. “I am excited to work with this exceptional team and commit to a resilient, equitable and low-GHG future for New York City.”
Amy co-authored the Sabin Center’s 2021 report, Urban Climate Laws: A Legal Framework for Local Action in the United States, which describes the legal aspects of local greenhouse gas reduction policies. We are proud of Amy’s appointment and look forward to seeing how her expertise in urban climate law will contribute to New York City’s climate goals.
