Keto egg salad might not be the first thing that comes to mind Keto Egg Recipes. This is a common way to use hard boiled eggs, maybe you already know how to make egg salad?But check out how I learned the trick to making a creamy salad (try Tomato Chicken Salad, Broccoli Salad, Avocado Egg Salador Tuna Egg Salad, just to name a few! )…and seeing that eggs are definitely my favorite food…well, it’s only natural that Healthy Yum is missing an easy classic egg salad recipe.
So, here it is! A super simple, super versatile, super, excellent Delicious keto egg salad recipe. You may have made similar versions in the past, but I just had to share mine.
(Spoiler alert: This isn’t all that different from your classic egg salad, even if you’re not keto. You might serve it differently. 😉 )

Egg Salad Ingredients
The ingredients in this classic egg salad recipe are so simple you probably already have them in your kitchen:
- mayonnaise
- dijon mustard
- lemon juice
- hard boiled eggs
- celery
- white onion
- Chinese chives
- sea salt
- Black pepper
- paprika (optional – for garnish)

How to Make Egg Salad
When I say this is an easy egg salad, I mean it! Just a few super easy steps:
- Boil eggs. I usually do this ahead of time.you can poaching eggs on the stoveBelieve it or not, let baked hard boiled eggs.
- make dressing. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, mustard, and lemon juice.

- Mixed Egg Salad. Gently stir in eggs, celery, onion and chives. Season with salt and pepper.

- decorate. A sprinkle of paprika and more chives is perfect!

Yes, most egg salads are naturally keto-friendly, but it all depends on the ingredients in them.

Are Egg Salad Sandwiches Healthy?
There are many different types of egg salad sandwiches, and they run the “healthy” spectrum. Wheat bread is not the best choice if you want to cut down on carbs or even just refined flour.

Why is egg salad runny?
Sometimes the egg salad can get a little runny after the vegetables have released their moisture, and if left on the counter, it will warm slightly. To thicken it, just refrigerate and/or add an extra hard-boiled egg.

Can you make egg salad ahead of time?
The best egg salad recipes are made fresh, but there are a few ingredients you can prep ahead of time to make it come together super-quickly:
- Hard boil the eggs.
- Finely chop celery and onion.
- Mix the mayonnaise and mustard together.

Store this egg salad recipe in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
Can You Freeze Egg Salad?
I do not recommend frozen classic egg salad. Neither eggs nor mayonnaise freeze well.

What to Serve with Egg Salad
Whether you’re craving a simple egg salad sandwich or egg salad lettuce wraps, you have options. Here are a few ways to enjoy this delicious egg salad:

- cucumber slices – use cucumber slices as a cookie-like option for egg salad.
- mini bell peppers – Cut the mini bell peppers in half, remove the seeds and stems, and scoop out with a spoon.
