Ingredients and Substitutes

- cream cheese – Softened cream cheese is easier to mix, so let it sit on the counter for about 30 minutes before starting the recipe. If you forget, you can microwave the cream cheese to soften it.
- italian seasoning – I did Homemade Italian Seasoningbut for convenience, you can use the store to buy.
- cheese – I used a mix of shredded parmesan and mozzarella, but you can use just mozzarella if you like. Any other cheese that melts well will work too.
- Pepperoni – I used regular pepperoni in this recipe, but you can easily swap in turkey pepperoni or mini pepperoni. Chop up half of the pepperoni and mix it directly into the dip, while the other half will remain whole for the topping.
- Italian Tomato Sauce – I use homemade Sugar Free Marinara Saucebut any marinara or pizza sauce will work.
Variation: add garlic!
I kept this pizza dip recipe simple with as few ingredients as possible, but you can add flavor by adding 2 minced garlic cloves or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder to the cream cheese mixture.
