10 things we love about July

Why is it already August? ! Is it just us or are the fears of summer creeping up? The talk of going back to school has started, and summer in Vermont feels like it’s just getting started (finally). We’ve had some beautiful sunny days lately and we just want to enjoy every minute of it.

we like to share Our Favorite Things to Do in June And thought we’d last until July. Here are some highlights of our July, and things to help us through this hot and humid Vermont summer.

10 things we love about July

Five things about Jesse

Barbie

I think I’ve read pretty much every thought article on the Barbie movie. Considering how many articles and reviews I’ve read about this movie, it feels like I’ve already seen it, but nothing could have prepared me for how much I liked it. I still think of moments from the film and how it explored feminism, patriarchy, mother-daughter relationships, corporate greed, girlhood, and more. I can’t remember the last time I went to a movie theater, let alone laughed the whole way through. This will make you laugh, make you cry, and probably want to do it all over again. must see!

Shanguang Golden Essence

This is a new product that I started using at the beginning of the summer and omg I love it. This is a lightweight serum Has a refreshing aroma. Ursa Major is a Vermont woman-owned skin care brand.perfect in the morning under sunscreen Makes my skin glow.

dress

The weather in Vermont is pretty nasty. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such heavy rain in my life. But it was hot and humid, and the only thing that felt comfortable was light, airy clothes.i have been living in my Daughters of India Kyra Maxi Dress (this requires biker shorts as it’s a bit sheer) and Keira mini dress.

Gracie Abrams

consider me too late Gracie Abrams party. I discovered her album through one of them my favorite author kate bell, also realized she was opening for Taylor Swift? Apparently, I’m living under a rock. Her latest album, Good Riddance, is a mix of pop/folk/indie that makes you feel all the senses while listening.

Naniwa Nogito

I haven’t been drinking much (alcohol) this summer, and I like to make mocktails with dinner.i stumbled across This New(?) Sprindrift Flavor A recent trip to Target was amazing. A deliciously refreshing combination of lime and mint, it’s great out of a can if you’re at the beach or by the lake. At home, pour it over ice, add some fresh squeezed lime and lemon juice, and I also add a pinch of salt!

five things about kelly

stand up paddle boarding

i splurged and got Isle’s Pioneer 2.0 Stand Up Paddle Board a few weeks ago. I’ve been to the local lakes and ponds several times and this has been a real highlight for me so far this summer. After pregnancy, I often felt trapped in my own body, unable to do all the things I loved. This paddle board gave me that feeling of freedom that I didn’t even know I was missing! I’m so excited to try it out in the ocean during my family vacation in August. If you want to invest, they have some great deals right now! You won’t regret it.

stand up comedy

Apparently my theme this month is “stand up” but I see Colin Jost Saturday Night Live (SNL) does stand-up comedy at a local theater, and it’s cool and fun. I’m usually more of a concert girl myself, but this is a great way to hang out on date night, have a good laugh, and feel a little lighter overall. I don’t know about you, but floods and fires make things very heavy and sometimes, it’s nice to take a break from it all and remember that we don’t always have to take life so seriously.

Mother

My favorite book of the summer so far, and maybe even my favorite book of the year… Mother Jessica George wrote it so well. I was totally drawn to the characters from the start and loved the study of family, relationships and growing up. I love the flaws, the “authenticity” and the relevance. It was such a rich and deep read, yet such a riveting book that I couldn’t put it down! This review sums it all up! “Meeting Maame was like falling in love for the first time: warm, awkward, joyful, a little heartbroken, but most of all, unforgettable.” – Sochitel Gonzalez, New York Timesbest selling author olga dies in a dream

headache treatment

For many days during my pregnancy, I had been suffering from terrible headaches, on the verge of a migraine. Most mornings I wake up hungover, even though I haven’t had a sip of alcohol in months. I just can’t drink enough water!I told Jessie and she gave me Indie Lee’s Amazing Face Cream She said it was a lifesaver for her pregnancy headaches. It has come in handy several times in the last week and it does provide instant relief. If you’re battling a headache, keep some on hand! Thank you, Jesse! ! !

Barbie

Jesse and I went to see Barbie Went to the movies with another friend of ours and it was a perfect girls’ night. Even with all the hype, I’m still pleasantly surprised by how incredibly good it is. The overall tone of female empowerment paired with lighthearted, hilarious comedy is definitely the best. I love that theaters are full of men and women. I now have to take my husband for round 2!
