My blog is on holiday today – William Mitchell – Modern Monetary Theory

It's that time of year…I have a long flight today and a long drive to the airport, and at the end of my various journeys I get a birthday cake (cue LC). Traveling is about getting me to where the cake is. But the real reason I haven’t written anything today is because I have so much work to do besides traveling. So a birthday seemed like a good excuse to give my blog a little break.

The number of candles on the cake represents a complex non-linear function of my age.

We will celebrate my move into next year with a cake and then watch the AFL season opener where the mighty Dees (Melbourne) take on Sydney.

A great night is coming.

Anyway, you can enjoy this birthday music with me too.

Music – Stop (Super Session)

This is what I heard on my way to the airport this morning.

When I was in high school, I heard this record (1968)— super conference – What features are shown – Al Cooper – on the keyboard and – Mike Bloomfield – on the first side of the guitar and then – stephen stills – on the second side.

For me, the standout track is “Stop,” which features Al Kooper's wonderful Hammond organ and Mike Bloomfield's guitar work.

It's really one of those tracks that marks an era for me – the sound, the tone, the intonation – perfect rebel music.

I bought this album in 1970 and still play it today, albeit with some scratches.

That's enough for today!
