The root of Horner’s anger occurred on the first lap, when Hamilton’s Mercedes Verstappen’s Red Bull makes contact at a high-speed Copse corner. Hamilton was able to continue after some repairs to his machine. Verstappen left the track screaming and hit the tire guard. A red flag stopped the game.
“Honestly, this shouldn’t be like that,” said Horner, who was obviously angry. “Max had a 51G accident. Lewis Hamilton is an eight-time world champion (sic). He shouldn’t do such a drill. This is unacceptable. Thankfully, the biggest result for us today is that he was not injured.
“I hope Lewis is satisfied with himself.”
Hamilton was fined 10 seconds-this is the second mildest penalty the game administrator could have made. Horner was not impressed.

/ Public broadcasting“He stuck a wheel in a corner, you only know that you don’t do it. In that case, you just don’t put a wheel in the Copse in that corner. He is out of reach. This is from the front left. The contact to the rear right, they traveled at one of the fastest corners in the championship,” he said.
“Lewis has enough experience to know that this is unacceptable. I am disappointed that a driver like him would make such a move. It is dangerous.
“For me, this is an empty victory.”
Verstappen started from pole position and started the race with a 33-point lead. He got off the car by himself and was seen waving to the crowd after the accident. However, as a precautionary measure, he was taken to the hospital.
“He was out of breath,” Horner explained. “He was beaten all over. Fortunately, he was fine. This is the biggest result today.”
