At noon on Thursday, several major companies were affected by widespread network outages.
Companies such as Costco, Home Depot, Airbnb, British Airways, Delta Air Lines, Capital One, Go Daddy, Vanguard, UPS, LastPass, AT&T, and American Express have all been affected by the outage because their websites load slowly or display “DNS failed,” Reuters with NBC Finance Channel Report.
As of 1:45 pm Eastern Time, there has been no report on the cause of the power outage.
The content delivery network Akamai stated that it is aware of the issue and is investigating “new issues with the Edge DNS service.”
Cloud service provider Oracle told CNBC that it “is monitoring a global issue related to Akamai’s edge DNS, which is affecting access to many Internet resources, including Oracle cloud assets.”
However, it stated that the resources in its cloud services were not affected by the interruption.
The interruption seems to be localized, but it is not clear, because some users are able to access the company’s website while others cannot.
According to reports, the website resumed operation just after 1pm Eastern Time. Red dance.
