I've been a gamer for as long as I can remember. I have many memories of playing games on my brother's Atari 2600, Commodore 64, and Sega Megadrive. Yes, I'm that old! Gaming has always been a part of my life and I love that my family are gamers too.
My husband really likes racing games, he is a big fan of COD and Fortnite. Meanwhile, my kids love just about anything, from open-world adventures to classic platformers.
For me, gaming is the best way to relax after a busy day. It’s my little “me time” where I can relax and rest. It's comforting to play the game on a cold, rainy day when I don't want to venture too far. So, without further ado, here are my favorite cozy games to play on a rainy day or any day!
1 Animal Crossing: Friends
I think animal crossing new horizons So wholesome. I spent a lot of time playing this game on Switch. In the game, time moves instantly, reflecting real-world seasons, holidays, and even weather. Players can explore their island, gather resources, craft furniture and tools, and design their home and surroundings.
One of the cutest features of Animal Crossing is its cast of adorable animal villagers, each with unique personalities and quirks. These characters become your neighbors, forming a tight-knit community that evolves and grows as you interact with them.
Just like in real life, there are some neighbors you won't be so keen on! Pray they get tired and leave your island, haha.
2 Mengguang Valley
Disney Dream Valley is a stunning life simulation adventure game that invites players of all ages into the enchanting world of Disney and Pixar.
This game is so comfortable! I think this is the most beautiful graphic. I always sit comfortably on my couch or bed and play this game on my computer Switch OLED.
In Disney Dreams Light Valley, players take on the role of a hero tasked with restoring a once prosperous valley that has been overrun by a mysterious darkness. As you explore the world, you'll unlock famous Disney and Pixar characters like Mickey Mouse, Elsa, Moana, and more. These characters have lost their memories due to darkness, and you need to help them remember who they are and restore the valley to its former glory.
You can also customize your home and entire village.
3 The Sims 4
I've been playing this for years. I went for a while doing nothing but The Sims, then I took a break and eventually got back to the game. I'm currently enjoying the bonus feature “Cabin Living”.
Set against the backdrop of the picturesque world of Henford upon Bagley, cabin life Introducing a quaint, storybook setting filled with lush rolling hills, cozy cabins, and friendly villagers.
I have a lot of chickens and my Sims spend most of their time in the country pub! Ha ha.
4 Everyone is in ecstasy
I discovered this game on Steam through a gamer group I'm a member of.
everyone is in ecstasy is a poignant and immersive narrative-driven game. You explore the fictional Shropshire village of Yorton, where all of its residents have mysteriously disappeared, leaving only traces of their lives and echoes of their voices.
These memories are represented by glowing orbs of light that guide you to key locations, where you'll hear snippets of conversations and see the ghostly silhouettes of the people who lived in the village. These moments reveal the villagers' deeply personal stories, their hopes, fears, loves and losses, as they grapple with the mysterious events that led to their disappearance.
I love that this village is in Shropshire, so it's nice to see that we have a lot of familiar props, buildings and signposts here. Very unusual in the gaming world.
It took me two sessions to complete this game, and I wish I could find more games like it! This is a gem.

You'll have the opportunity to build a relationship, help them solve their problems, or just enjoy a friendly chat. The choices you make will affect how your relationship develops, and ultimately how Meredith's story unfolds.
It's a very relaxing game and the scenery is beautiful.

Each soul represents a unique character with its own story, personality, and unresolved questions, and it's Stella's job to help them find peace before saying goodbye.
The graphics in this hand-drawn style are beautiful and the storyline is touching but equally heartwarming!
7 Life is Strange: True Colors

However, her plans take a tragic turn when Gabe dies in a mysterious accident, leaving Alex to deal with her grief while uncovering the dark secrets beneath the town's charming surface.
The game's narrative allows players to shape Alex's relationships and the course of the story through dialogue options and decisions, some of which have far-reaching consequences! I really like this game but haven't played the other games in the series. I can't wait!
