On April 22, more than 70 people attended the AAPISTRONG Small Business Roundtable Series held at China Harbour Restaurant.
It is organized by local community leader Xiaoyan Wu and the National Asian American/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce (ACE), a nonprofit that speaks for the business interests of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
In addition to challenges from Covid and the climate of anti-Asian hatred, AAPI businesses also receive less federal funding than white businesses, said Michael Fong, Regional Director of the Small Business Administration.
Attendees included small businesses as well as members of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
