On Friday, Vail County contacted parents and staff to inform them that all 11 schools in the area will be closed until August 27. All 11 schools will reopen on September 7.
Vail County said that although the school is closed, other extracurricular activities and competitions will still take place.

Vail County reported that 76 students who tested positive for COVID-19 attended school during the exposure period. Of the 5,900 students, 679 students were quarantined. In addition, of the 950 school employees, 67 have tested positive for COVID-19, and another 150 are in quarantine.
