How Long to Cook Eggs in the Air Fryer?
For regular air fryer hard boiled eggs, 15-17 minutes is the ideal cooking time. Different air fryers and egg sizes may have slightly different cooking times.
Air Fryer Egg Schedule
Use the table below to learn about other doneness levels for large eggs. Choose your preferred time based on how you like your yolks:
| air fryer cooking time | result |
|---|---|
| 8 minutes | very runny boiled eggs |
| 9 minutes | runny boiled eggs |
| 10 minutes | very sticky medium boiled eggs |
| 11 minutes | Gooey Medium Boiled Eggs |
| 12 minutes | Just set medium boiled eggs |
| 13 minutes | soft boiled eggs |
| 14 minutes | Very Creamy Boiled Eggs |
| 15 minutes | Creamy Boiled Eggs |
| 16 minutes | hard boiled eggs |
| 17 minutes | very hard boiled eggs |
Here’s a visual of what the eggs look like after 8 minutes, all the way up to 17 minutes: I find 14-15 minutes to be “perfect” doneness for me (not dry, but also fully set), but 17 minutes probably a more traditional texture egg salad sandwich.

Tips for Easy-Peel Air Fryer Eggs
This air fryer poached eggs recipe makes eggs easy to peel thanks to the circulation of hot air. These tips make it even easier:
- Use older eggs. Eggs that are at least a week old have more air inside, creating more space between the egg white and the shell.
- Cook in batches, if desired. A typical air fryer can hold about 8 eggs, but a large air fryer should hold a full dozen. If it doesn’t work out, you can cook it in batches.
- Soft to medium eggs are harder to peel (8-10 minute eggs). Since the egg whites are still somewhat soft, it can be tricky to peel them. Make sure they cool completely so the whites can harden before peeling.
- Immerse in ice water. If you use the air fryer egg cooking schedule above but skip the cold water step, your eggs will be overcooked. They can also be harder to peel.
- Roll the eggs on the counter. My favorite tip. Roll the egg on the counter, pressing it lightly so that it cracks everywhere. Just peel off part of the casing and the rest will come off effortlessly.
storage instructions
Store unpeeled hard-boiled eggs in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 7 days. If peeled, soak them in water, but change the water daily. Just be sure to separate hard-boiled eggs from raw eggs in the fridge!
