Sydney McLaughlin does not have to look too far in the latter part of the 400m hurdles final in Tokyo Olympic Games On Wednesday, she did not have to look for a strange face. McLaughlin tracked her American teammate to win the game, breaking her own world record in the process.

McLaughlin won the game with a time of 51.46 seconds, breaking her world record of 51.90 in front of Tokyo Station on Wednesday.

Compatriot Dalila Mohammed, who finished second, won the silver medal in 51.58 seconds, which is also lower than the previous world record. Femke Bol of the Netherlands won the bronze medal with a score of 52.03.

Before McLaughlin found her final gear, Muhammad led the final 100 meters, beating her Olympic champion teammate.
