Following the fresh BrightFarms recall For some salad vegetables that may be contaminated by Salmonella, Old soul farm Out of concerns about Listeria contamination, a series of recalls of greenhouse green leaf products have been issued.
The St. Paris, Ohio-based company said the recall was issued after it tested positive for Listeria in rainwater storage tanks at its greenhouse facility and was “out of caution”. Old Souls Farms also stated that the test was conducted from a customer who received the contaminated basil.
Old Souls Farms stated that no illnesses have been reported in this recall.
The recalled vegetable products include arugula, basil, finstar, green bibs, romaine lettuce and spring mixed vegetables, which are packaged in transparent bags of 1 to 25 pounds, and in 1 ounce, 4 ounce, and 5 ounce sizes.
The batch numbers of the affected clamshell vegetable products are 193, 194, 195, 196, 197, 198, 201, 202, and 203, located at the bottom of the package. Arugula, finstar, green bibb, romaine and spring mix are valid for July 23, 25, 26, 27, 29 and 30. Basil is valid from July 20-24 and 26-27.

Consumers are urged not to consume the recalled greenhouse green leafy vegetable products. They should be dealt with immediately.

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems. Pregnant women infected with listeriosis are at risk of miscarriage and stillbirth.
Healthy people may also be infected with Listeria, including symptoms of high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Anyone who has symptoms of Listeria should seek medical attention immediately.
