The Asia-Pacific Cultural Center (APCC) announced that it will return to live events at its 24th Asia-Pacific New Year celebrations, with China as the theme.
This is APCC’s largest annual event, and it is also the first live broadcast event since the pandemic began to celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Tiger.
Guests will see demonstrations from China as well as Guam, Philippines, Fiji, Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand, Samoa, Japan and many other countries. Everyone participating in this one-day event will experience folk music and dance, wonderful martial arts, delicious food and many other wonderful cultural performances. Participants can visit many resource booths, cultural displays, food booths and various vendor tables. This is a free family-friendly activity for all ages.
During the opening ceremony, the day kicked off with the colorful drums of IWC. Then throughout the day, the audience will see Hawaiian dance by Halau Naniloa Mana’oakamai Okeala Akua, Korean drum by Morning Star, traditional dance by Indonesian Cultural Association, Pierce College Taiko Drum Corps and more.
The celebration will be held at the McGavick Convention Center in Lakewood from 11 am to 6 pm on February 19, 2022
