How to Make Apple Bread
It's almost like making a boxed cake mix, except this spiced apple bread is made with real, wholesome ingredients. Scroll to the bottom of the post to see the full recipe card.

- Prepare apples. Gently place apples in bowl with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Stir in dry ingredients. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, allspice, cloves and remaining cinnamon in another bowl.

- Fold them. Slowly fold dry ingredients into wet mixture. Mix until just combined. Add cinnamon apples and pecans.

- bake. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Tips and variation ideas
Take this homemade apple bread recipe to the next level by adding soft frosting, chewy cranberries, and crunchy coconut.
- Prevent sticking. Line the bottom and sides of the loaf pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Make it fruitier. Use 3/4 cup apples and 3/4 cup diced peaches or apricots instead of 1 1/2 cups apples for extra sweetness.
- More plugins. Stir 1/4-1/2 cup dried cranberries, shredded coconut, or raisins into the batter for added flavor and texture.
- Make muffins. Line a muffin tray with liners. Pour batter into it until 3/4 of a second full. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Add icing sugar. Stir 1/2 cup powdered sugar with 4 teaspoons lemon juice until smooth. Spread mixture onto cooled bread for a sweeter texture. You can also use icing sugar or cold whip.
- Stay in the center. Never bake on the lowest oven rack. The bottom of the bread will burn before the center has a chance to cook. Always bake on the middle rack.
