In 2020, the United States installed a record number of solar panels, bringing total solar production to 76 gigawatts (GW). Due to cleaner air quality, reducing carbon emissions through the plan will save the country between 1.1 trillion and 1.7 trillion US dollars. According to the report, any costs incurred during the transition period will be offset by the savings brought about by “technical improvements.”
