This frost Blueberry Vanilla Smoothie is one of my favorites, especially when it’s warm outside! I love this delicious flavor combination and it only takes a moment to prepare. Plus, it’s a refreshing way to increase your protein intake and help optimize gut health!
refreshing combination blueberry, collagen and Vanilla protein Powerful nutrients packed into a small package!
blueberry Provides antioxidants and fiber, essential for our gut health and supporting our immune system (1). Plus, berries are a low-sugar fruit, which makes them a sweet treat that won't spike your blood sugar.
collagen Made in your body using the amino acids in the dietary protein you eat and supporting the epithelial cells in your gut – this aids in nutrient absorption and immune support (2).
As we age, we don't produce as much collagen, so use bone broth, gelatin, or Hydrolyzed Collagen Supplements Can help support your gut health as well as your joints, skin and bones (3).
I added one and a half I
Vanilla protein Provides us with essential amino acids that your body cannot make on its own and must get from food. I have increased the serving size here and I recommend you do this if you are over 40 because as we age we need more amino acids as the body does not absorb them as easily.
This small meal represents what I care about at any meal: getting enough fiber from whole foods and including enough protein at all meals throughout the day. This will provide your body with the building blocks it needs to stay healthy and thrive.
I love this quick and easy mix and I know you will too!
