Bonnaroo cancelled due to Hurricane Ida

Rains from Hurricane Ida this week caused severe flooding in many southern states. One of the cities that has been hit is Manchester, Tennessee, where the annual Bonnaroo Music Festival is held.

On Tuesday, Bonaru organizers cancelled the four-day event.

“We are very sad to announce that we must cancel Bonnaroo,” the organizers said Twitter.

“Currently, many areas in Centeroo are flooded, the ground on our toll booth roads is very saturated, the campsite is flooded, and we cannot drive or park vehicles safely.”

After rains reached 5-7 inches in recent days, the festival venue was considered unsafe and could not accommodate large crowds. In 2020, the event was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Bonnaroo is about 65 miles from Nashville and was originally scheduled to take place from Thursday to Sunday. The attendance is expected to reach approximately 80,000 people.

All tickets purchased through Front Gate Ticket will receive a full refund within one month.
