Brazilian President Jal Bolsonaro is undergoing emergency surgery


According to the Brazilian President’s Office, Brazilian President Jal Bolsonaro was undergoing emergency surgical evaluation for intestinal obstruction on Wednesday.

According to the Associated Press, the initial statement stated that Bolsonaro was taken to the Brasilia Armed Forces Hospital in the morning and “feeling good”, and the doctor was checking his continuous hiccups.

A few hours later, the President’s Office stated that Dr. Antonio Luis Macedo had decided to transfer him to Sao Paulo, where he would undergo additional inspections to assess whether emergency surgery was needed.
