The Breen City Council selected six candidates and two alternates for the position of Breen City Manager on June 6. Five candidates confirmed their interest in continuing, including Pritz Navaratnasingam, executive director of the Seattle Department of Veterans Affairs, and Martin Yamamoto, interim city manager for Mill Creek.
Community members will have the opportunity to meet and evaluate candidates at an open house event at the Burien Community Centre on June 9 at 6.30pm. Communities can complete a short online survey to share their feedback on candidates with the City Council.
Candidates will then be interviewed by City Staff Leadership and City Council as follows:
June 10, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.: The City Council will be interviewing candidates in a special public meeting, and they are expected to select three final candidates for interview next Monday.
June 13, 4:15–7:45 p.m.: City Council will interview the finalists during a special public meeting, and they are expected to select one finalist for a conditional job offer.
June 21, 7 p.m.: City Council will hear an update on potential action on formal background checks and employment agreements.
