“Eternal Race” director Chloe Zhao revealed that if Harry Styles rejected the role, Eros would not appear in Marvel movies.
A few weeks before the latest Marvel superhero movie was released on Friday, there were rumors that the former One Direction singer was one of the “eternal family” actors.
Now, the Oscar-winning director can finally share the details of Stiles’ casting. She revealed in a new interview that when she proposed the idea of putting Eros in the movie, she only considered the singer. Play this role.
“Harry as Eros is a package deal for me,” Zhao told deadline Friday.
She explained, “I came up with the idea of Pip the Troll [voiced by Patton Oswalt] And Eros to Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios president] Not long ago, I like to explore the idea of the eternal beyond the Titan. He may have influenced Thanos for many years, just as the eternal affects us on earth. ”
Zhao made it clear that they did not look for actors or auditions for Eros, because in her opinion, Styles was very suitable for this role.
“Then, it’s not like I suggested Eros,’Let’s find an actor.’ Since “Dunkirk”, I have followed Harry closely and I think he is very interesting,” she explained. “After seeing him, I realized that he was that role—just like I chose other actors.”
At the time, Zhao said that she just waited for the action signal from Stiles and Figo after proposing the idea, and when they all agreed, she was “very happy”.
The story of Eros is not discussed in “Eternal Race”. He only appeared in the ending scenes, where he interrupted Thena (Angelina Jolie), Makkari (Lauren Ridlov) and Druid (Barry Keohan) because they were deciding how to Save their friends. “Behold, the royal prince of Thanos, brother of the Titans,” Pip said.
The 27-year-old singer then smirked and flirted with the new hero.
“I am Eros, this is Pip, you are as beautiful as the legend, Sina,” Eros said. “Pip and I are here to help. Your friend is in big trouble. We know where to find them.”
Although Eros is the brother of Thanos, the former seems to be completely different from the purple alien who destroyed half of the universe’s life for five years. Eros is fun, carefree, and charming-the opposite of the crazy Titan who was defeated in “Avengers: Endgame.”
According to Zhao, she never considered other actors to play this role because Styles “has too much erotic desire.”
Styles made his debut in Dunkirk in 2017. His role in “The Eternal Race” is just his second screenplay role on the big screen. U.S. Weekly famous.
He will also star in the thriller “Don’t Worry My Honey” by his girlfriend Olivia Wilde, as opposed to Florence Pugh who appeared in Marvel’s “Black Widow”.
