Feels like it’s time to re-share one of my favorite Cinco de Mayo mezcal margarita recipes. Honestly, I never thought I would love mezcal, but when I first tried a margarita with lots of citrus juice a few years ago, I absolutely loved it. I’m not a big drinker, but it’s one of the only drinks I drink in cocktails and one of the few that doesn’t give me a headache. The great thing about mezcal cocktails is that with so many delicious combinations, you can get really creative without the need for fancy toppings. I like to use citrus because it’s the perfect flavor to balance out the smoky mezcal. Even if you don’t think you like mezcal, try this and I can almost guarantee you’ll change your mind! Honestly, I just use whatever we have, it doesn’t have to be exact, do as you like. If you want a mocktail, this is as good as no mezcal, and I like to use kombucha where appropriate or in addition to soda. Let me know if you try this cocktail and like it. cheers.
