Margaret of the Moon
CNBC Chairman Mark Hoffman The following announcement was made on Friday:
I am happy to announce Margaret of the Moon Join CNBC as the senior vice president and general manager of our direct-to-consumer business. Margaret will report to me and be responsible for the overall strategy and operations of CNBC, a fast-growing business category. Working with Jay Yarow and the entire leadership team, she will focus on CNBC PRO and a set of new products that will be developed over time.Margaret will begin work on August 2 and will be based at CNBC’s global headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey
Margaret joined CNBC from Tribune Publishing, where she served as the general manager of digital subscriptions. In this position, she is responsible for driving the company’s large audience and revenue growth for its subscription business in eight markets across the country.
Prior to this, Margaret was the President and Chief Operating Officer of TheStreet, responsible for the company’s transformational business strategy. During her three-year tenure, she built an audience for TheStreet.com and developed its subscription, digital advertising, licensing and events businesses. But it can be said that her greatest achievement was to oversee the acquisition process for a year, and finally acquired the organization in 2019.
Early in her career, Margaret worked for MarketWatch in San Francisco for more than a decade, first as a product manager and then promoted to interim general manager. There, she was responsible for formulating and executing the organization’s strategy and leading its key plans for subscription investment newsletters, mobile applications and content management systems (CMS).
With more than 20 years of experience in the digital media industry, Margaret has an admirable track record in expanding multiple businesses. With the help of our talented employees, I am very pleased that Margaret has been able to in-depth and work closely with each team to develop a roadmap for the success of our direct-to-consumer business and to create must-have products for new and old audiences.
Please join me in welcoming Margaret to CNBC.
