Collagen Cider

This warm Collagen Cider A new fall favorite, just in time for the weather to start getting cooler.

While we heat our bones by the fire, how about supporting them with an extra dose of collagen? In fact, this Collagen apple juice Recipes are a way to support our holiday season Bone, joint, skin and gut health It also creates an autumnal atmosphere throughout the house.

I added mine collagen to this recipe because it is virtually undetectable in anything you add it to and it dissolves completely. So, before you know it, you're getting an extra boost of peptides that support your body's tissues.

One of the reasons I'm really paying attention to my collagen intake these days is gut health. Cells in the gut (epithelial cells) form tight junctions that form an impermeable barrier that keeps microorganisms and toxins out of our bloodstream.1)(2). The extracellular matrix that supports this important structure is composed of collagen.

You don't necessarily need to take collagen supplements because our bodies synthesize collagen from the different amino acids found in the proteins we eat. However, there are factors that can reduce your ability to produce collagen, such as stress, smoking, not enough protein in your diet, and as we age, we produce less collagen (3).

At this point in my life (now 47), I take collagen powder almost every day because I want that extra boost to support my joints and bones, as well as my gut health. Good gut health is important at every age, but it’s especially important for us women as we enter perimenopause and transition into menopause. A balanced gut can help reduce some of the symptoms associated with hormone fluctuations (hot flashes, mood swings, etc.) by breaking down and recycling estrogen through a specialized part of the microbiome called the estrogen metabolome.

Eating a balanced diet with enough protein at each meal is a great way to support your body's natural production of collagen. Taking a collagen supplement can be a great backup and can make a difference with regular use.

I know you’ll love this festive fall recipe and I hope you’ll share it with your friends and family!
