A Missoula, Montana man who took his 10-year-old son to participate in the January 6 riots learned of his fate on Friday.
U.S. District Judge Coron Corral-Cottley sentenced Boyd Allen Camper to two months in prison. Camper had previously admitted to marching, demonstrating or picketing in the U.S. Capitol in September.
In exchange for his plea, the prosecutor agreed to drop some of the other charges against Camper. These include deliberately entering restricted buildings or venues without legal authorization, engaging in disorderly or destructive behavior in restricted buildings or venues, and engaging in disorderly or destructive behavior in the U.S. Capitol.
Even if other charges are dropped, Camper could still face 6 months in prison and a fine of up to $5,000. However, according to WRC-TV investigative reporter Scott MacFarlane, the prosecutors were satisfied because they were only seeking the two-month prison sentence he received, and he broadcasted the verdict live on Twitter.

Description of the arrest warrant from the United States Ministry of Justice (DOJ) details Camper’s behavior on January 6.
Camper admitted that he took his 10-year-old son to participate in the riots, but he asked him to stay outside with an adult friend and prevented him from taking any action.
The child was not seen in the capitol security camera inside the building.
However, the security camera footage did show a man who was later identified as Camper, walking through the narrow entrance corridor of the Capitol.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Camper can then be seen and heard trying to bring more thugs into the building and tell those wearing gas masks to “come forward.” In the surveillance video, he was also seen walking around in the rotunda of the Capitol, holding a stick that looked like a Go-Pro personal camera in his hand.

At least five anonymous witnesses told the FBI (FBI) They were with Campor or met Camper during the riot, and he told them he wanted to climb to the top of the building.
In addition, Camper later gave an interview outside the Capitol CBS News and admitted that he forcibly broke in. “I’m on the front line,” he told CBS. “We are going to occupy this damn place. If you haven’t heard of it, this is the so-called rebellion, and our people are ready.”
In March of this year, Camper was arrested by the authorities at his home in Montana.
Camper’s lawyer told the sentencing judge that when he saw a video of the riot on TV, he was “in the mood” and reportedly was “shocked”. Camper added that he is working hard to do what he considers to be an honor.
However, Judge Kollar-Kotelly did not purchase Camper’s defense. He told him that if he pleaded not guilty and allowed the case to enter the trial stage, he would “definitely” be convicted.
“Obviously, your intentions and mentality… are to participate in this self-proclaimed uprising,” she continued.
In addition, Kollar-Kotelly admonished Camper to take his son on January 6, stating that “violence is an unacceptable way to resolve political differences” and went on to say that he should teach his son the value of American democracy.
