Deliberately set fire to CID, Pioneer Square


The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) and Seattle Police Department (SPD) said they recently saw an increase in intentional arson incidents in the Chinatown International District (CID) and near Pioneer Square. Most fires occur in trash and recycling bins near businesses.

On October 2, the fire department responded to a fire at a closed business that was undergoing remodeling.Most fires occur between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m.

Fire investigators are working closely with SPD’s arson and bomb squad to share information about the ongoing investigation.

In light of these recent events, SFD and SPD urge the public to call 911 immediately when they see someone illegally setting a fire and take steps to reduce the likelihood of a fire in your home or business.

  • 5th Ave. S. and S. King St. — Dumpster Fire
  • The 1000 block of S. Jackson St. — a closed and remodeled business catches fire
  • 1st Ave. S. and S. King St. — Garbage Fire
  • 1st Ave. S. and S. King St. — Garbage Fire
  • Alaskan Way S. and S. King St. — Lighting Electric Scooters
  • Alaskan Way S. and S. King St. — Garbage Fire
  • 10th Ave. S. and S. Jackson St. — Dumpster Fire
