Toyota RAV4 celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. In the early 1990s, the popularity of SUVs rose significantly because more and more buyers chose them because of their defining characteristics such as a higher ride height and ample cargo space. RAV4 was very popular at the time and is still the preferred mode of transportation for American families today.
For generations, this model has been popular with buyers, often competing with Honda CR-V and Nissan Rogue for the highest quarterly sales championship, and is often named the best-selling SUV in the United States at the end of the year.
The RAV4 name originally stood for “Recreational Activity Vehicle: 4 Wheel Drive”, but this model always offers the choice between front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
