It looks like Ed Sheeran fans are about to treat. The best-selling artist posted a short video on Instagram on Tuesday to tease a new project.
“Something special is being recorded today,” the 30-year-old British singer-songwriter wrote in the caption.
In the video, Hiran can be seen wearing a black T-shirt and jeans. Behind him are the semi-circular backup singers, who are also dressed in all black costumes. Together, they sang the unforgettable and wonderful a cappella of Sheeran’s 2020 song “Afterglow”.
Instagram posts have been viewed by fans at least 2.5 million times, and they can’t suppress their excitement about Sheeran’s new project.
“I understand why you chose that space. The acoustics are great. I like a cappella music!” commented a fan.
“This sounds great!!” Another said.
Unfortunately, Sheeran did not provide any other information about his new project.
However, it is worth noting that the video trailer was released shortly after the release of his new single “Bad Habits”. The track is currently ranked first in the Billboard Global 200 and has entered the third week of the Global Excl Summit.U.S. chart, report billboard.
“Bad habits. Ranked number one in a month. Thank you for listening to and supporting Ed’s new single,” the artist’s official Twitter account shared on July 24.
according to ABC News, “Bad Habits” is the lead single of Sheeran’s forthcoming fifth studio album. The title and release date of the album have not yet been announced.
In a previous Instagram post, the “Your Shape” singer told his fans how much he likes to write “bad habits.” He even described it as “an interesting tune”.
“Write down bad habits in January @fredagainagainagainagainagain and @jmd_snowpatrol. We rented an old country house, thinking that the changes in the studio’s scenery would help produce the most interesting songs, and for a month, I’ve been thinking about ideas and genres that I usually don’t create.” Sheeran recalled. “Bad Habits” appeared by accident. It was a very interesting song. I didn’t know it would eventually become the first single on the album, but here we are. Check out the video on YouTube, hope you like it.”
Also this month, Hiran celebrated his fourth time as a songwriter on Billboard after BTS’s latest single, “Dancing permission,” The song he composed with Johnny McDade, Steve Mac and Jenna Andrews reached the top of the Billboard Top 100 singles chart. On Monday, the song fell to number 7. Because it gave way to another BTS hit song “Butter”.
