EDGE entity ADSB showcases a 51m maritime patrol vessel at Indo Defense 2022

An Abu Dhabi-based shipyard made the announcement on the first day of the India Defence Expo and Forum 2022, which will be held at JIExpo Kemayoran in Jakarta, Indonesia, on November 5.

Designed by ADSB and ARES shipyards, the 510 OPV has a proven hull design and a diverse portfolio of naval vessels. Built to operate in harsh sea conditions, this 51m vessel features a large modular deck that can be configured for ship or equipment transport or deployment of various combat systems. With a fuel capacity of 65,000 liters, it offers long range and extended endurance, making it ideal for search and rescue, fast attack missions and other maritime activities.

ADSB CEO David Massey said: “We are proud to introduce another patrol vessel co-designed by ADSB and ARES Shipyard and built by our experts and dedicated staff. The vessel is configured for transport and can accommodate two 11m fast interception boats, a Rapidly Deploying Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB), various Search and Rescue (SAR) equipment, a multi-purpose crane, two jet skis, a Remote Control Vehicle (ROV), rear deck and side rescue doors.

In February 2021, ADSB launched its first IP-owned 16m and 12m fast interceptors for coastal and offshore needs. The company is expanding its product range by building maritime patrol vessels at its 300,000-square-meter Abu Dhabi Shipyard. As part of the EDGE platform and system cluster, ADSB now has an internationally competitive design portfolio in the 11-51m range.
